Launched the application of owm beta 2 fails to make downloading exits:
rsync: read error : socket operation on non-socket 108
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream code 12 at io.c 610 [receive = 2.6.8]
help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11  Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad huh huh huh huh

You must setup your Firewall and allow rsync to access the internet. Or turn your Windowsfirewall off.

100% correct! rsync is necessary to update and install the paks for owm beta2

Deinstall OWM.
Deaktivate Firewall or allow the file rsync.exe from your Folder
...\OWM_Beta2\Game\Bin\Update\ to connect the internet.
Reinstall OWM, start it, and then whait until updates are loaded.
That will take time!!! Be patient!

I do not know what part do not even if I turn off the firewall and accept the 'exception

Do you have a router? They usually act as a second kind of hardware firewall (hence: ports)

My friend has same problem and (its not related with that problem) buy If game running, ventrilo is veeeery slow and laggy, like, i talked with my friend in ventrilo and he answered me 10 minutes later, but he taught that something is wrong and called me, asked wtf happened, and like 10-15min later all what he said, came like very fast (same effect when u have big packet loss) :S What to do?

if i close update window then the game window comes on and crash log comes up

i get this error in game folder there is that text file

Done.

This Crash means corrupted or nonexistent pak files.
You need to download them with the update application.
To get it working you need to configure your software/hardware firewall/portfilter properly.
For help visit portforward.com.
I think Rsync (the application our update application is based on) uses port 873.
OWM itself uses the same ports as SSW.

@Staff: Correct me if im wrong with the port number.

Is it possible that he can download these needed files from somewhere else than using that rsync updater?
